Open Positions

I have openings for a number of positions to work with me at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore.

NTU is a world-class research university (ranked 7th, 9th, and 20th in the world in computer science by the most recent ARWU, QS and THE rankings, respectively) situated in the vibrant and cosmopolitan city-state of Singapore. English is the main language of Singapore.

PhD Students

I am always looking for talented and motivated PhD students to work with. Applicants should have a good bachelor's degree in computer science, or a closely related field (e.g., mathematics, engineering, etc.).

PhD applications are handled centrally at NTU, but you should contact me before applying if you think you might want to work with me. Please email me with:

a copy of your CV, and
a few sentences motivating your interest.

While I cannot respond to every inquiry, I do read all of them and I will get in touch if I feel there is a fit.

Successful candidates can expect a generous tax-free stipend, full tuition fee coverage, travel funding to top-tier conferences, and eligibility for on-campus accommodation at subsidised rates.

Postdocs

I frequently (including, as of September 2024, right now) have openings for postdoctoral positions. Applicants should have a PhD in computer science, and a strong track record of work in an area related to my research (broadly construed). Please email me with a copy of your CV.

Successful candidates will be offered a globally competitive salary and benefits package, as well as travel funding to top-tier conferences.

Research Assistants and Interns

In limited cases, I will consider hiring short-term research assistants and interns (including from outside of Singapore). Priority for these positions will generally go to those who are considering a PhD in the future. Please follow the same application process as for PhD students above.
